<image:title>Dr Brendan Flowers - Dr Brendan Flowers</image:title>
<image:caption>Like many people in the Bow Valley, Brendan is originally from Ontario. After too many Ontario cities for various degrees, he was keen to start his true career in medicine. He initially started his medical training at Queensland University in Brisbane and finished at McMaster University. He decided to test the mountain lifestyle by completing his residency at University of Calgary and, not surprisingly, he got hooked forever! Wanting to include his passion for physical activity and the outdoors in his profession, Brendan also has an interest in sports medicine and wilderness medicine. With so many incredible things to do in the mountains, Brendan enjoys his down time by being outside and physically active; he skis (of any kind), camps, canoes, hikes, road and mountain bikes, and climbs. He has been in Canmore since 2015, and he considers himself fortunate to live and work in an INCREDIBLE location with wonderful people! Dr. Brendan Flowers is a full time delivery physician.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dr Katie Clark - Dr Katie Clark</image:title>
<image:caption>Katie is pleased to be part of the Mountain Maternity & Family Medicine team. She took a roundabout way into medicine but could not be happier with where she finally ended up! She grew up in Northern Ontario and moved to Toronto where she studied and worked as a registered nurse, in downtown emergency departments and in labour & delivery. In her off time she was an armoured officer in Canada’s reserve forces. After getting married and spending some time travel nursing, she could no longer ignore the call of further studies. She moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia and attended medical school at Dalhousie University. Katie made her way to Calgary where she completed her family medicine residency and additional training in maternal and child health. When not at work, she is spending time with her favorite people: her husband and two lovely daughters. She also loves to travel and try her hand at photography. She enjoys exploring the local area with her family and discovering everything the Bow Valley has to offer. Dr. Katie Clark is a full-time delivery physician.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Dr Cuthbertson was born and raised in Calgary. She spent considerable time in the mountains and they have always felt like home to her. She lived in Nova Scotia for a number of years during her undergraduate degree and then moved back to Alberta for medical school and her family medicine residency. After finishing residency in 2016, she jumped at the chance to locum in Canmore and fortunately has been able to stay and practice in the Bow Valley ever since. Outside of work, she spends most of her time outdoors, mountain biking, ski touring, climbing and hiking. Dr. Megan Cuthbertson is a full-time delivery physician.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dr Patty Edgar - Dr Patty Edgar</image:title>
<image:caption>Patty moved to the Bow Valley immediately after finishing medical school and 3 years of Surgical training at the University of Toronto. She decided that small town Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Obstetrics was where her heart lay. And, Banff offered an unbeatable lifestyle with the best views in Canada from her office window. After practicing and raising a family in Banff, she jumped at the offer to move her practice to Canmore to continue to be part of a busy Obstetric group. Dr. Edgar juggles office days, OR assists, and Obstetric call with lots of time spent biking, skiing with the Alberta Masters' team, or enjoying less structured time with her 2 incorrigible Wheaten terriers. She enjoys working and playing hard while trying not to let one interfere with the other. Dr. Patty Edgar is a part time delivery physician.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dr Jan McPhee - Dr Jan McPhee</image:title>
<image:caption>Dr. McPhee is a Nova Scotian who, upon finishing an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology, was lured by the mountains to Vancouver, BC where she completed her Master of Science in Zoology at the University of British Columbia and studied physiology with sea lions as her study subjects through the Vancouver Aquarium. After having her 15 minutes of fame on the Discovery Channel collecting sea lion poop with a baggy and a spoon on a small coastal island, she worked for several years as a research biologist on various projects in the Vancouver area. Eventually, she changed careers to follow her life-long interest in medicine. She graduated from UBC Medical School in 2012 and completed a rural family medicine residency through the University of Calgary in 2014. While completing a family medicine rotation in Canmore during residency, she fell in love with the community and its mountains and simply never left. When she is away from the clinic, she enjoys mountain biking, climbing, scrambling, skiing, paddle boarding, and worldwide travelling. She practices the full-range of family medical care from prenatal and newborn care through to geriatric and palliative medicine. In addition, she has a special interest in women’s health including sexual health, contraception, and menopause management. She offers comprehensive perimenopause and menopause consults to all community members through a referral from a patient’s family physician. Dr. Jan McPhee is a full time non-delivery physician.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Originally from Ottawa, Laura quickly fell in love with the Bow Valley as a young adult. She spent many seasons adventuring and working in the mountains in varying capacities prior to starting her medical training. Laura completed both medical school and a Family Medicine residency through the University of Calgary. Laura practices full-scope Family Medicine, with special interests in breastfeeding medicine, women’s health, and preventative care. She is passionate about working collaboratively with patients and families to find solutions that balance evidence with individual goals. Laura is a proud Mom to two young kids and a spirited German Shepherd. Whether hiking, mountain biking, or canoeing, Laura enjoys spending her spare time outdoors with her family. In addition to her family practice, Laura is also accepting referrals for breastfeeding medicine and lactation. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with a passion for supporting families through their infant feeding journey. Whether you are pregnant, or in the throes of infant-toddler life, Laura is dedicated to working with you towards your feeding goals. Common reasons for lactation support: - Pre-natal breastfeeding education - Nipple and/or breast pain - Milk supply (e.g., low supply, oversupply) - Bottle OR breast preference - Anxiety, depression, stress associated to infant-feeding</image:caption>

After moving to the Bow Valley, Dr. Wang noticed the lack of gender affirming care providers in the area and is now pleased to offer gender affirming consultations, HRT initiation and follow up, and gender affirming surgery referrals. She also has a keen interest in psychedelics medicine, and completed various didactic workshops on psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy in the past few years. Outside of work, she loves to run, meditate, and cold plunging in the Bow River.
