Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

Welcome to mountainmaternity.ca. These terms explain how our website works and what you can expect when you use it. We've written them in plain language because we'd rather you actually read them than wade through legal fine print. By using our website, you're agreeing to what's below.

Acceptance of These Terms

By visiting or using mountainmaternity.ca, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree with them, we'd ask that you not use the website. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.

Medical Disclaimer — Please Read

This is the most important section on the page, so we've put it front and centre.

The information on this website is provided for general information only. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always speak with your physician or a qualified health professional about any question you have regarding your health or a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department right away. Do not use this website, and do not wait for a reply to a form or message, in an emergency.

Visiting this website or submitting a form does not create a doctor–patient relationship. That relationship begins only when you have attended your appointment with one of our physicians.

Booking and Appointment Terms

We want your time with us to run smoothly, and a few clear policies help everyone. Please take a moment to read these before booking.

Website forms are not confirmed appointments. Submitting a form on this website is a request, not a booking. All appointments are confirmed through our booking platform, Pomelo (TELUS Health), and are subject to approval by the clinic. Until you receive a confirmation through Pomelo, please consider your appointment unconfirmed.

Cancellations and no-shows. If you need to cancel or change an appointment, we ask for at least 24 hours' notice by phone. When appointments are missed without notice, that time can't be offered to another patient who needs it. Missed appointments and late cancellations are subject to a fee, ranging from $50 to $150 depending on the type of appointment. Any outstanding fee must be paid before a new appointment can be booked.

Telephone appointments. A phone appointment is a real appointment, and we treat it exactly like an in-person visit — typically about 15 minutes. On the day of your appointment, please keep your phone on and the ringer audible, and make sure you're somewhere with good cell reception. Your physician will call you during the day. Because appointments can shift slightly depending on the day, we're not able to give an exact minute, so please be ready and reachable.

The patient–physician relationship. We're committed to a respectful, safe environment for our patients and our staff. The clinic reserves the right to end the patient–physician relationship in certain circumstances: if any patient, family member, or visitor behaves in a way that makes a patient or staff member feel threatened; if a patient has two or more no-show appointments; or if a breach of trust has occurred. We don't take this step lightly, and where possible we'll always try to talk things through first.

Intellectual Property

Everything on this website — the text, the logos, the design, and all clinic photography — is owned by Mountain Maternity & Family Medicine Inc. Our photos are our own. Please don't copy, reproduce, or reuse any of this content without our written permission. If you'd like to use something, just ask.

Links to Other Websites

Our website includes links to other sites — for example, on our Useful Links page — because we think they may be helpful to you. These links are offered as a convenience only. We don't control these outside websites, we don't necessarily endorse them, and we're not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Once you leave our site, the other site's own terms and privacy policy apply.

Accuracy and Availability

We do our best to keep the information on this website accurate and current, but we can't guarantee that everything is complete or up to date at all times. The website is provided as is. From time to time the site may be unavailable — for example, during maintenance or updates — and we're not able to guarantee uninterrupted access. For anything important, especially about your care, please confirm with us directly rather than relying solely on the website.
